It does take a lot to lose her trust, and most likely whoever loses it deserves what they get due to her empathy and loyalty. However, once it is lost, it is ten times harder to regain. ]

She often uses it to disobey orders in a way to avoid being caught, or construct detailed lies about her past, or even to get back at a cat who has done a small, nearly insignificant injustice to her. Sometimes it pays off, and ends up being for the better of the clan, but it isn't often the source of her decision.Survival is always put before kindness, and those who can survive with next to nothing are much more valuable than those who can't, according to her. ]

Biography
| Prior to Birth |
[ Sunsplash's parents were once great warriors, so warrior blood runs in her veins. They were feral cats, but were found sick and starving after a flood destroyed their clan's home, rummaging for food in trash cans by a small two-feet village. They were, reluctantly, taken in one of the dens and nursed back to health. Finding the two-feets' home to be a pleasant and safe place, they soon fell pregnant and had a litter of kits. The two-feet did not like this, however, and as soon as the kits became old enough to survive on their own, they were moved from the home to many different two-feet dens throughout the village, and Sunsplash has never seen any of them ever again. ]

[ When Sunsplash was brought to the new two-feet home, she was quickly found to be... quite a troublesome cat. She would always get into whatever food containers she could find, and did not get along very well with their cub, whom she was gotten to be a kittypet for. The two-feet made arrangements for her to be moved again, to yet another two-foot den, and she was not happy. She hated being all cooped up in the small home, and craved the life that she could only see through the strange clear barriers that prevented her from leaving. One day the two-feet left, and didn't come back. A new two-foot came into the den and hurried about the rooms, moving things around aimlessly, it seemed. He left with a large bag and the entire den was trashed. Sunsplash found her opportunity, though, in the open entrance that the intruder had used, and fled quickly from the den. ]

[ Sunsplash was thrilled to feel the grass beneath her feet as she ran through the woods towards a goal she didn't know she had. She found hunting for food easy, but otherwise the life of a stray cat was rather difficult. She learned, after many moons, about the different ways of healing her wounds, and what plants and herbs could be used for what purposes. She eventually came across the forest that homes a variety of clans of cats, large groups that work together as a family to survive and protect eachother that her parents had told her about as a kit. The clan seemed to welcome her, and she exchanged her kittypet name, Bengal, for that of an apprentice Medicine cat due to her, though limited, preexisting knowledge of healing. ]

[ Sunsplash wasn't content with the life of a Kittypet. She didn't get to stretch herself under the warm sun, or run across the soft grass, or hunt for food like a feral cat does. She spent her days - when she wasn't being "played with" (the two-feet's word for torture, apparently) - lounging against a window, peering into the unknown outside. When she wasn't doing that, she was causing trouble in the two-feet's den. She hid from her 'owners' as much as she could, but couldn't get away from them all the time. Once she finally broke free, she was glad to never have to go near that place again. This has left Sunsplash with a strong distrust, and dislike of the two-feet monsters. ]

[ Sunsplash looked at her reflection in the still water for a fraction of a heartbeat before she yowled and threw herself into it. Her body sent drops of the clear water spraying up towards the sunshine. She was at home in the water, and her wide paws pushed her forward powerfully as she pressed on. In a minute, she had reached the far edge of the pond, and ignored the stinging in her back paw, which had been cut by a stone the day before. She looked around, but couldn't find any marigold or cobwebs on this shore. "This isn't going to work," she whispered, and watched as the sun began to set, casting its gaze on the clouds above her head, "But I suppose it'll have to." The place seemed warm enough, though, so she lay down on the soft, dry grass and licked at her wound until she was tired, and fell into a light dream. ]
